Jackson Humanities Institute (Digital) Media Study Group
With a grant boost from JHI, ideas that had been crossing paths for years brought together our vastly interdisciplinary digiMedia Study Group at the inception of the 2008-2009 academic year.
Following our second meeting on December 5, 2008, collaborative projects are being considered in the following research areas:
- literacy/post-literacy
- media behaviours
- privacy and surveillance
- religion and the public sphere
- anything else people may get/already are passionate about
With participants from a wide range of research backgrounds - cinema, graphic arts, literature, media and communications, philosophy... - and all levels of the academic hierarchy, we anticipate that collaboration will be mutually enriching and productive.
